I’ve only stayed at a Ritz-Carlton once before and I was literally counting down the days until I left for Miami because I was SO excited to stay at the Ritz-Carlton South Beach. What makes Ritz-Carlton different from all other hotels? The service, touches of luxury, and stunning views on the property make each Ritz-Carlton incredibly unique. I felt like a queen with my 10th floor balcony room with gorgeous views of the pool and beach. My room was spacious, comfortable, bright and beautiful. The bathroom was literally marble from floor to ceiling with a huge bath tub, beautiful shower, water…

I just got back from Miami Swim Week last week and had a total blast with Jessie and all the SC Sisters down there. I wanted to recap what I wore since I got so many comments on my Instagram photos while I was traveling! Next week I’ll be recapping my stay at the Ritz and on Monday, the live podcast episode from our event goes live, too! Outfit #1 – Miami Swim Week Shows at the W. I wore this Rebecca Taylor dress on the plane and it was SO comfortable for traveling. Jessie picked me up in her…

Okay, so real talk. I had Invisalign invisible braces done four years ago, and I was NOT happy with my final results. The office that I was going to got a new orthodontist during my treatment, and she didn’t know anything about the product I was using. Could this be the end-all be-all solution for the girl who loves fashion, but hates spending money on new clothing every single month just to keep up with…

I normally reserve podcast talk for the SC show notes, but I am SO, SO excited about today’s guest, Dr. Carole Barnett, who was my leadership professor during the MBA program. Dr. Barnett is one of my mentors, and she helped me realize that I wanted to be an authentic leader for others. She ignited a fire within me to seek and create change. I wasn’t able to shift the culture of the organization that I was working at through informal leadership, so I had to make a bold move and become fearless. I left my corporate job in November…

Starting your own business and being an entrepreneur is amazing; you get to be in control of your hours, what you do, and who you impact. But if you think you’re going to be an overnight millionaire, think again. When you are the CEO of a startup, you are the last to get paid.   “In Silicon Valley, 75% of founders pay themselves less than $75,000 per year and 66% pay themselves less than $50,000 per year (source).”   The first full year that Style Collective existed, I didn’t pay myself a dime. I put every single penny back into…
