When I was in high school, I used to have hair & makeup dates with my friends. They would come to my parent’s house before they had a date with their boyfriend, and I’d do their hair and makeup for them. I’ll never forget when I gave my friend Holly a Marilyn Monroe look with gorgeous red lips, sultry eye makeup, and curls for her short hair. I was also the hair & makeup pro for my little sister before all of her proms and the holidays. I remember one time on Christmas Day, I walked into her room and…

The week of Thanksgiving is always a special time of year to me, but not for the reasons you may think. Two years ago, the Wed before Thanksgiving was my final day of my corporate job. You would think that I would have been elated, but on my last day, I was called down to HR and interrogated about the work bully situation that I had discussed (again) during my exit interview. Once more, I was brought to tears, and all that I wanted to do was to finally leave so that I could work on becoming myself again, but…

If there is one thing I have learned about social media, it is that there is always a backstory to a photo. The saying “a picture is worth a thousand words” still holds true in today’s digital world. Moving to Raleigh is a really big deal for Mike and I because it is a goal that we set three years ago in 2014. Staying focused can be challenging, especially if you have a million things on your plate. This can be a struggle for ALL women: entrepreneurs, side hustlers, Moms, and even college students who work or do a sport. I am the worst at multi-tasking; if you start talking to me while I am in the middle of doing something, I literally won’t hear a single word that you are saying. It’s like I’m blacked out! Does this happen to anyone else? I own my own business, work from home, and manage a team remotely, so staying focused is important for my…

So what’s new? What’s been going on lately? Mike and I moved out on our condo in New Hampshire on August 4th and since then, things have been all over the place. We were in Raleigh for a week, Tampa for three weeks, Raleigh for a few days, and then New York for NYFW. Mike was supposed to be in Tampa while I was in NY, but he was evacuated and ended up coming to help me with the NYFW Party. We stayed with family in NJ for the week after NYFW, then I flew to Dallas for work (more on…
