Blogger Mail Series: Spring Box of Style Review

Blogger Mail Series: Spring Box of Style Review

As an influencer, I am sent samples by companies to try out and review on my blog. I’ve actually scaled this back A LOT since I changed my focus to entrepreneurship and speaking engagements, but I still receive some blogger mail every now and then, which has inspired a new mini-series!

So you guys know that I am a HUGE fan of Rachel Zoe, I mean she is such an icon and has built an empire from nothing. She is my kind of woman. I also love that Spring’s Box supports women because every single piece comes from a woman owned business. How cool is that?

I am lucky to receive a complimentary Box of Style each quarter (see my fall review here) and I wanted to share an honest review of each item in the box before it sells out!

About Spring Box of Style: Tailor-made for women on the go, this collection was carefully curated by Rachel and her team to take you from work to the weekend with glamorous ease. Plus, every chic item inside the box (think: a striking black and white carryall, a set of adjustable earrings, a screen-printed scarf) comes from a female-founded label, championing women’s empowerment from the creator to the wearer. Watch here as we reveal its fashion-forward contents in full, valued over $400. Then become a Box of Style member to get yours now.

The Items: Gift or Keep?

Tribe Alive Caryall: I wish that I had this bag when I was in LA earlier this month, because the vibe is so on-point for west coast peeps. This bag is made really well, holds a lot of items, and features a strap if you get tired of holding it! Very versatile. For me personally, I probably won’t get much use of this bag since my style is more classic and east coast. Verdict: gift.

Tatcha Enzyme Powder: I LOVE THIS STUFF. My blogging girlfriend, Janna, gave me a small jar of this for my birthday last year and I am addicted. It basically rice powder and you add water to create a foamy paste to wash your face with. No weird chemicals, additives, or smells. This stuff is great. Verdict: keep.

Adronmonde Earrings: These earrings are gorgeous and I truly love the versatility of wearing them with or without the circular hoop part, BUT I can’t wear them. 🙁 I have sensitive ears and these irritate my earring holes. Verdict: gift.

Symbology Scarf: I’m not a scarf person, but this is really pretty. The gold really pops against the red! My blogging girlfriend Anna has this amazing tutorial about 8 unique ways to wear a scarf, so I can image how chic this scarf would look on someone else. It’s just not for me. Verdict: gift.

BKR Water Bottle: First, it’s blush colored, and second, it’s made of glass. A total winner in my book. I actually needed a new glass water bottle after I dropped mine on the ground 2 years ago! Verdict: keep.

Butter London Nail Polish: This is my favorite nail polish brand because it holds up so well. I had a pedicure two weeks ago and used this color; it still looks gorgeous. I will probably bring this color to the salon next month because I love it that much. Verdict: keep.

Final Verdict:

For $99 you receive $400 worth of items, and the items that I am keeping retail for $118. As you can see, a subscription box can be hit or miss. You don’t know what you’re going to get, but the items that you do love end up being worth more than what you paid. Verdict: worth it.

I’d love for you to also receive style surprises in the mail!  Subscribe to the Box of Style and get the Spring Box while it’s still in stock, they are selling out FAST.

    • I don’t do any subscription boxes anymore either, but I really do love this one! A box of glam & chic every quarter is always fun to unbox. 🙂

  • Wow! This is a great subscription box. I am VERY familiar and very in love with Tatcha (big into Japanese skin care & they are based here in SF) and so the fact you got a whole size in that box is major. BKR (also based here in SF!!) is amazing too. They are my favourite water bottles ever. I see so many subscription boxes these days but this one def looks like the best one! I love that you listed it out as gift or keep. In fact, I never even thought about subscribing to always have gifts on hand – that is genius! Great post, Annie!! xx Shannon
