Hi Lovely! The weather is finally starting to warm up in New England which means that it’s time to break out the cute dresses and start showing some leg! March can be a tricky time of year to figure out what to wear because temps are still low in the morning and at night. But don’t worry; I have 4 style tips for an almost-spring outfit that will definitely help you stay stylish during this awkward weather. And the best part is that you’ll get to keep wearing one of your favorite winter essentials! Keep reading to find out what it is.
4 Style Tips For a Cute Almost-Spring Outfit
Start with a sleeveless dress
A sleeveless dress in your favorite shape is the foundation to this almost-spring outfit. This type of dress is so versatile because you can wear it all year round with the right kind of layers under or over. I picked this sleeveless shift dress for my outfit because I love shift dresses, the color is great for creating a monochromatic look, the material is soft and it’s easy to care for. Plus, it’s less than $23 with code annie15 at checkout!
Elongate and slim with a long sweater
Adding a boyfriend sweater, duster, long drape-y cardigan or cashmere wrap elongates and makes you look tall and thin. This is my best-kept secret to make myself look tall and lean since my legs are my best feature. If your waist is your best feature, then add a waist-cinching belt to your long cardigan!
Add cute accessories
A plain dress is a blank canvas to go wild and have fun with your accessories! I like to pick two body parts to really add on the layers or statement pieces. Coco Chanel made long layered jewelry chic, so throw on some long necklaces to elongate your look! I also added a cocktail ring to my right hand. I decided to forego a bracelet and just wore my classic diamond stud earrings.
Add your favorite winter boots/booties
Everyone has a great pair of boots or booties in their closet, so this is a great way to extend the life of your favorite boots into spring. I promise that your legs won’t look cut off by wearing booties because we are elongating the rest of our look with a dress and long cardigan.
Bonus Tip: spin around in circles because you’re so excited that it’s finally Spring… and Pi Day!!
