I hope you LOVE this post – we had so much fun planning this and putting it together to share with all of our Lovely Girls. xo Annie
Skinny Citrus Margarita
- 5 oz tequila (I like 1800 or Patron)
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1 lime, juiced
- 1 T agave nectar (or maple syrup)
- Splash of sparkling water
- Ice and lemon/lime slices for garnish
directions: shake tequila, lemon juice, lime juice and agave nectar in a cocktail shaker. Pour into two glasses filled with ice. Top with sparkling water and garnish with lemon/lime slices.
4th of July Citrus Salad
- 6 cups Organic Baby Kale
- 7 sticks Jicama chopped
- 4 small Cucumbers chopped
- 10 Cherry Tomatoes sliced in half
- 1 tbsp. Sunflower Seeds
- 4 tbsp. Braggs Berry Dressing
- 6 Tangerine Oranges peeled
- 2 lightly salted brown rice crackers crumbled
Toss is all together and make extra for the week. I was adding leftover BBQ chicken and turkey burgers to make a refreshing salad to enjoy by the pool. The zing of the citrus and the dressing ties in nicely, if you are unable to find this particular dressing try making this:
Summer Salad Dressing:
- 1/3 cup fresh coconut water
- 1 lemon squeezed
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
- Himalayan sea salt to taste
Mix together and store for up to 3 days.
Hair Tutorial: Boho Braided Pony
Hello lovely! Today I am so excited to share this Fourth of July inspired hair tutorial with you. It is called the Boho Braided Pony. I love this hairstyle because of its undone look and it is SO simple! There are only a few steps.
Start with your hair on a side part. Take a small section off the part line and begin doing a fishtail French braid. You only have to do a few stitches of a French braid, then you can continue the rest of the way down doing a regular fishtail.
Gather all your hair into a side pony. The pony should be on the same side as the fishtail is.
Grab a small section of hair within the pony and backcomb it to add volume. Create a small bun. Take the tail of the bun and wrap it around the elastic to cover it and secure it with a bobby pin.
Take another small section of hair and make another bun, but this time start the bun a little lower than the last one.
That’s it! Like I said, it is SO simple and will be perfect for the Fourth of July weekend! If you want to see more videos like this, subscribe to my channel here. Thank you so much for watching! XO Hales
4 Ways To Look Chic For the 4th of July
Hello, Gorgeous! I am Julianna, the creator of the style blog Blush & Camo where women (or Blush Babes as I lovingly call my readers!) go to enhance their everyday style! Think of Blush & Camo as your own personal stylist:).
I am SO happy to be the style contributor for The Lovely Girl and it’s awesome you stopped by today because I’m sharing 4 ways to look chic for the Fourth of July!
The holidays are a time when style guidelines go right out the window because your style can be as exaggerated and over the top as you like because #holiday.
The Fourth of July is no different, but if over the top style is simply not your thing and you prefer to stick with a more understated approach to holiday style, I totally understand!
In fact, in today’s post I’m sharing with you 4 tips for looking chic for the Fourth of July that are guaranteed to work every year!
Ready to elevate your holiday style?!
CHOOSE A MAIN COLOR
Since it’s the Fourth of July we are all going to be showcasing our American spirit by rocking some red, white, and blue! The style tip to ensure your outfit remains chic is to proportion out your colors. You want to proportion your colors because this will eliminate any bold colors competing with one another!
Pick out a color (red, white, or blue!) that you want to be the main focus of your outfit! In this post I choose blue as my focus color because my dress is mostly a beautiful blue hue!
NOW ACCENT YOUR MAIN HUE
Now that you have your main hue picked out this style tip is super simple! The other two colors remaining will accent your outfit and really make it pop!
I love using red as an accent color because this bold hue really makes a statement even with the smallest accessories!
Ways you can use accent colors include:
- Lipstick color
- Nail color
- Hair accessory (bow, headband, ribbon)
- Color bauble necklace
These are just a few of the ways to add chic, but subtle accent colors to your overall look!
Which options do you love?!
YOU DON’T HAVE TO WEAR STARS AND STRIPES
On the Fourth of July you typically see everyone wearing both the stars and stripes together (which I love!), but if you want to take a more unique approach to your outfit and elevate that chic factor try only sticking with one of the two patterns!
So maybe your outfit is pattern mixing stripes or all stars! This is a simple, yet effective, way to still show your patriotic spirit while still maintaining a very chic, and original outfit for the holiday!
INCORPORATE A FEMININE OR EDGY ELEMENT
To really accentuate your Fourth of July’s chic factor add a feminine or edgy element to your look! By incorporating one (or both of these hues) you are elevating your outfit’s chic factor instantly!
Ways to incorporate a feminine element into your outfit include:
- Flowy dresses
- Chiffon Material
Ways to Incorporate more of an edgy element to your look include:
- Choker necklace
- Darker blue tones
- Mixed metal jewelry
- Faux leather
- Boots/Tennis shoes instead of flats or heels
- A studded purse
This is not an all encompassing but gives you some ideas when thinking about a feminine or edgy element to your holiday look!
Thank you SO much to Courtney Bond Photography for the photos and I hope you have a wonderful Fourth of July! xx Julianna[share title=”Share this Post” facebook=”true” twitter=”true” google_plus=”true” linkedin=”true” pinterest=”true” reddit=”true” email=”true”]
